Bangalore

Milking cows in a side street near our hotel in downtown Bangalore.

Cathy has had a thorough introduction to Bangalore over the past couple of days. First day was mainly eating, sleeping, and walking around the City Market/Avenue Road area. Next day we went to the other side of town to Dr Ray who said my tooth could not be crowned due to lack of tooth structure, so we both had teeth cleaned and polished and a walk over to the Brindavan Hotel which has not changed in 30 years. Real South Indian food on a banana leaf plate, as much as you can eat constantly replenished for Rs55. We pretty well covered the whole MG Road cantonment area of Bangalore on foot and the legs are getting more fit by the day. The new Bangalore Metro is under construction and will be the first urban rail public transport built here, which is good because Bangalore has the worst traffic in India. I read that it now has ten times more vehicles than 20 years ago. And still nowhere to park them it seems.
We are both in the pink of good health, and I'm sure the Steripen UV light water purifier that Cathy found in Napier has helped. Since we now don't need to return to Bangalore next week for the dentist, we are en route to Mysore for a couple of days before returing here then on to Sai Baba's ashram at Puttaparti for a longer stay.

hi i just typed a long message and then realised that i had to create blog account to enter it and lost the lot, xox

Glad to hear that you have arrived and are enjoying the delights of our holy continent. I realised that you were there just a few days ago (you know, the thought entered)

I smiled heartily at the computer comment, I remember sitting in internet cafes wondering if it was going to work this time and how abysmally long I would have to wait if it did!

Are looking forward to your photos when you do manage to get them up on the site.

I have just enjoyed a breakfast of W Tree egg and sour dough Atta toast.... definitely my favourite toast in the world, although Her Majesty does not approve of toast that does not have vegemite or sardine or peanut butter on it currently, this will continue to change. (Jessie has given up marmalade because She doesn't like it... this too will change)

All is well though, we had a working bee yesterday to ready the shearing shed for the Salsa band on Friday night, we are looking forward to having fun.

Garden is good, we have had rain and the autumn is very pleasant. I am soon to harvest about twenty beautiful butternut pumpkins. Have been enjoying tomaotes by the thousand (no seeds, just the one you gave me last year) potatoes, celery, beans, capsicum, corn, onion, zucchini, beetroot, carrot lettuce, spinach and silverbeet. ANd lots of herbs albeit I have lots of work if I want to collect seeds or to stop them shooting or what ever it is called.
SO much love and hugs
